What is NAD+ and is it right for me?

Written by Javier Rodriguez

NAD+ is a naturally occurring coenzyme found in every cell of your body, and it plays a key role in how your body produces and uses energy. Maves prescribes it as an injection to support steady natural energy, mental clarity, and recovery.

Why NAD+ levels matter

NAD+ levels decline naturally over time. As they do, people often notice lower energy, brain fog or reduced focus, slower recovery, and generally feeling less like themselves day to day.

NAD+ supports core processes including cellular energy production, metabolic function, cognitive performance, and cellular repair. When those processes are supported, patients may experience more consistent energy through the day, clearer thinking, and improved recovery from daily demands.

Is NAD+ right for me?

NAD+ may be a good option if you feel run down even after rest, notice more mental fatigue or brain fog, feel like you are pushing through the day, recover slowly from stress or activity, or simply want to feel more like yourself again.

Your doctor reviews your health history during your onboarding to determine whether NAD+ is appropriate for you.

Why injections rather than supplements

Injecting NAD+ bypasses the digestive system, which allows for more consistent absorption and helps support more reliable NAD+ levels in the body.

What to expect

Some patients notice a lift in clarity or energy fairly quickly. For others, benefits build gradually over days to weeks. Results vary from person to person, and a series of treatments is usually needed for sustained effects.

Most people tolerate NAD+ injections well. Mild effects can include soreness at the injection site, warmth or flushing, headache, temporary fatigue, and less commonly nausea.

What NAD+ is not

NAD+ is not a weight loss treatment. It is not a stimulant or a quick energy fix. It is not a replacement for sleep or good nutrition, and it is not a treatment for any disease.

Some patients use NAD+ alongside other treatments, but on its own it is focused on energy, clarity, and recovery.

How treatment works

NAD+ is a self-administered subcutaneous injection into the fatty tissue of the abdomen. Your doctor sets your dose and how often you take it, and may adjust it over time. Your prescription confirms your own schedule.

Your plan includes the supplies you need and ongoing access to your doctor.
